Wednesday, June 14, 2017 - 02:27
With Summer Games Done Quick (SGDQ) a few weeks away. A lot of runners are focusing on their runs and getting the practice in and the commentary practice in to make sure they add a little extra shine to their big moment on stream. We also have A LOT of runners focusing on bettering times for games that may not have had a lot of attention for a while OR just may never really been thought about and didn't have a leaderboard.
Incredible times, a surprising amount of runners, amazing viewers, somewhat decent commentators: This edition of the Tiny Ten had it all! As the original organiser of this event (it's me: Moelle) I am truly honored how the Portable Marathon evolved into the past 2 years into something not only me, but the other organisers, runners and viewers alike all look forward to with the excitement of a toddler finding a worm in the backyard.

With Tiny Ten #5 around the corner, a lot of the old WR's for the games on that list have been constantly being improved upon. Reporting on those currently would be a waste of time. Johncarls may be an idiot for fogetting to mention this brilliant website yet again, but we'll forgive him... this time! In the latest pocket episode of The Frame Savers, he takes a closer look at the hypest new Game Boy speedrun out there: Avenging Spirit. Get yourself convinced to start speedrunning this brilliant game before the hype train leaves the station.
What better way to start the new year then with some fresh new Game Boy world records! First up we got some sweet speedkicking and speedpunching in Double Dragon. Tired of all this violence in your videogames? We got you covered on par with some relaxing fast paced swinging action in Golf with not one, but two new records!
A lot of research has been going on in the background concerning how SGB Enhanced games perform on different setups. Originally pld already found out that some games seemed to be running slower than normal when using a Super Game Boy 2 (and of course on SGB1 but as that one runs too fast by default we didn't take this further into consideration). Recently Nudua put the problem under the scope and has come up with some very interesting details.
